Essence Psychological Health Services, PLLC offers a range of mental health services, including individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and psychological assessments.

What issues do you specialize in treating?

In addition to addressing general mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, stress management, trauma, relationship issues, grief and loss, and behavioral concerns. Our practice specializes in offering support to women navigating reproductive challenges, such as loss, early infant mortality, infertility, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, and the aftermath of trauma and grief.

How do I schedule an appointment?

Scheduling an appointment is easy. You can call our office at 713-492-2260 or use our online appointment scheduling system on our website to book a session at your convenience.

What can I expect during my first therapy session?

During your first therapy session, you can expect to discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals for treatment, and to begin building a rapport with your therapist. It's also an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the therapy process.

What are your fees, and do you accept insurance?

Effective March 31, 2024, Essence Psychological Health Services, PLLC will be transitioning from insurance pay to a self-pay system. This decision has been made after careful consideration to ensure that we can continue providing you with the highest quality care and support. To provide you with more flexibility and choice, we are introducing three payment options: Comprehensive Treatment Packages, Subscription Options, Pay-per-Service Options. HSA/FSA and Out of Network billing options are also available.

How long are therapy sessions?

Therapy sessions range in length. You have the option of booking 50-, 75-, and 90-minute individual therapy sessions. Couples and group psychotherapy sessions usually last 90 minutes.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

If you're struggling with emotional or psychological issues, experiencing relationship difficulties, or simply seeking personal growth and self-awareness, therapy can be a beneficial and supportive resource.

Is my information kept confidential?

Yes, your privacy and confidentiality are of utmost importance to us. We adhere to strict ethical and legal guidelines to ensure the privacy of your information.

Do you offer teletherapy or online counseling?

Yes, we offer teletherapy services for clients who prefer to have therapy sessions remotely. This allows for flexibility and convenience in accessing mental health support. If a teletherapy session is deemed inappropriate, an in-person session slot will be offered, or we will make an appropriate referral.

How long does therapy typically last?

The duration of therapy varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some clients may benefit from short-term therapy, while others may engage in longer-term treatment based on their unique circumstances.
