Women's mental health is the mental health specialty that focuses on the biological, psychosocial, and sociohistorical factors that influence women’s likelihood of developing mental health symptoms as well as the course of mental health disorders. Among the symptoms and disorders that are impacte by biological sex are anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and PTSD. At Essence Psychological Health Services, PLLC we strive to provide Women’s Mental Health Services in an ethnically, culturally, and gender-appropriate environment.

Reproductive Mental Health is the area of mental health concerned with the hormonal changes that take place from menarche to menopause that can trigger mood, physical, and behavioral symptoms. Includes difficulty linked to reproductive trauma and loss and infertility.

Maternal Mental Health is concerned with mental health symptoms such as depression, anxiety, and psychosis, that occur during pregnancy or in the first years after childbirth.

Women's Sexual Health is focused on the many physical, psychological, interpersonal, and social factors that influence a woman's sexual wellbeing. At Essence Psychological Health Services, PLLC our goal is to support women on the journey to experiencing a state of sexual well-being in which a woman can fully participate in and enjoy any sexual activity of her choosing.
